Fil-Am beauty Christelle Abello is joining Miss Universe Philippines two times in a row since last year. She will try her luck again as she made it to the Top 100 official candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2021.
Abello made a special appearance during the Miss Filipina International 2021 pageant virtual press conference on Thursday morning, July 22.
"Why not, right? Hindi ko nakuha ang korona last year. So why not try this time around," Abello said to the press.
"I am 27 (years old). It is my absolute last chance to join.You know last year I am admitting that I lack a lot of, we can say, confidence and maybe power in myself to perform to the best of my ability. So I know that this time around, I'm really sure of myself that I really really want this. I will fight for this crown so that's why I really want to join again," she added.
During the said virtual press conference, Abello recalled her first pageant experience through Binibining Pilipinas USA in 2014, where she won the top crown.

Binibining Pilipinas USA is now called Miss Filipina International (MFI).
"I joined not expecting much from the outcome but I did end up taking home the crown with me when I joined, which was a really big surprise but also at the same time it opened so many opportunities for me. It boosted a lot of my confidence. It pushed me to really pursue my dreams here in the Philippines."
As part of winning the title, she got the opportunity to travel in the Philippines to promote tourism to all Filipino immigrants in the US.
"We traveled to Bohol, Subic Bay. Having that vacation time for us and being able to really tour the Philippines was one in a lifetime experience and it was a lot of fun."
In 2015, she moved to the Philippines and joined the Miss World Philippines 2015 where she finished in the Top 10.
She joined Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and reached the Top 16. She was awarded as the new face of Ginebra San Miguel for 2021.
