Bb Pilipinas 2022 queens join Grandparents’ Day in Araneta City

The reigning Binibining Pilipinas queens took part in fun-filled activities with elders and mall goers at Araneta City for the Grandparents' Day celebration on September 11.

Binibining Pilipinas International Nicole Borromeo, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Basiano, and Binibining Pilipinas 2nd runner-up Stacey Gabriel graced the arts and plants workshops at Gateway Mall. They joined April Arceo, founder of the Cactus and Succulent Enthusiasts Society, in a basic home gardening and plant care workshop where she gave tips and secrets on how to nurture indoor plants. According to Arceo, just like grandparents, plants are also in need of warmth, attention, and constant communication.

The queens also watched as Grandier Gil Bella, President of the Philippine Pastel Artists, gave a basic sketching workshop that inspired the audience to pursue their passion for art. Borromeo, who's also into artworks, showcased her quick sketching skills by drawing a childhood memory when her grandparents took her in an orchard. In the sessions, Bella and Borromeo reminded the audience that it’s never too late to start doing art.

Meanwhile, Binibining Pilipinas Globe Chelsea Fernandez and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Roberta Tamondong participated in fun sessions at Ali Mall. The queens joined the grandparents in a groovy ballroom workshop, and gamely posed in front of talented artists who made quick and striking caricature sketches.

Tamondong, who started learning dance at a young age, and Fernandez, who grew up with her grandparents, expressed having a wonderful time with the elders during the event.

The reigning Binibining Pilipinas queens took this time as a quick day off from their hectic schedules. They are busy visiting charity institutions and civic partners, and are preparing for their upcoming international pageants.
