Miss Universe Mynmar's suitcase lost in Los Angeles; has nothing to wear in Miss Universe

Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 Thuzar Wint Lwin needs help. Her luggage was lost in Los Angeles. As a result, she does not have anything to wear.

This was revealed in a post by pageant page Sash Factor on Instagram, Monday, May 10.

A private conversation between Miss Myanmar and an unidentified person was posted.

Miss Myanmar said in the conversation: "I have another problem. One of my luggage (was) left in Los Angeles since May 6. It was airline's fault. They didn't bring my luggage."

Thuzar had a stopover in Los Angeles from Myanmar before going to Miami, Florida.

"All of my dresses and evening gown are in that luggage. I have nothing to wear now. I have been asking airport and trying everything I can. They don't even know where my luggage is," she wrote.

"Also my final evening gown (is there)," she added.

As of posting, Trần Việt Bảo Hoàng (National Director of Miss Universe Vietnam) and Natalie Ackermann (National Director of Miss Universe Colombia) have offered help to the beauty queen.

Filipino-American Kristen Regalado will also provide dress to Miss Myanmar.

No continental grouping and speech round in 69th Miss Universe

If the rumors are true, there will be no continental groupings and speech round in the 69th Miss Universe competition.

This was revealed in a post by pageant page @mvlanuevera on Instagram.

Back to the old format?

Miss Universe Organization first introduced the continental groupings in 2017.

For the first cut, Top 21 ladies will be randomly selected. Top 20 will be selected based on the combined scores from the preliminary judges and Miss Universe Organization. One contestant will be selected from the fan vote (Lazada and Choicely).

The Top 21 contestants will compete in swimsuit competition. Top 10 will proceed to the evening gown competition.

Top 5 highest scores in the evening gown round will answer the final question.

From there, 4th runner-up, 3rd runner-up, 2nd runner-up, 1st runner-up and the new Miss Universe will be announced.

Fake news?

However, based on the press statement released by MUO on March 3, 2021, opening statement is still included. See text below:

"The three-hour event will feature women representing dozens of countries competing in multiple categories, including personal statement, swimsuit, evening gown and interview, ending with Zozibini Tunzi, who will be the longest-ever reigning Miss Universe, crowning her successor."

The Miss Universe Organization has yet to confirm this format.
