Two Miss Grand International 2020 candidates test positive for COVID-19

In a Facebook statement released by Miss Grand International Organization, two of its official candidates tested positive for the coronavirus.

They are Miss Grand Kenya Irene Ng'endo Mukii and Miss Grand Nigeria Chikaodili Nna-Udosen.

 

 "During State's Quarantine with regular routine COVID-19 swab test there was two candidates test result turn positive which are Nigeria and Kenya. The Miss Grand International has follow the standard regulated guideline recommended by government together with doctor advice by moving both candidates to Piyavej Hospital for further treatment. The hotel applied their standard ASQ policy by sanitized all related area including their accomodation room. The rest of the candidates test negative and clear from COVID-19," said by Miss Grand International in a facebook announcement.

 

The two candidates are now in Piyavej Hospital in Bangkok for treatment and monitoring.

The rest of the candidates are negative including Philippines' Samantha Bernardo. They are under the mandatory 14-day quarantine which will end on the 2nd week of March.

As of press time, it still uncertain if they are allowed to join the start of actual activities.
