Israel to host Miss Universe 2021 pageant

The 70th edition of Miss Universe pageant will be held in Eilat, Israel on December 2021. The official announcement was made by Miss Universe Organization through their various social media accounts on Monday, July 19 (Tuesday night, July 20 Manila time).

Miss Universe wrote on Instagram: "70 YEARS! 👑 The 70th #MISSUNIVERSE competition is heading to ....Eilat, Israel! 🎉 MISS UNIVERSE will air live around the world December 2021."

This is the first time that Israel will be hosting the pageant.  They have one Miss Universe winner, Rina Messinger. She was crowned in 1976.

One of the famous Miss Israel is Gal Gadot. She competed in Miss Universe 2004 in Ecuador. She did not won the crown but she later became a global star. She portrayed the role of Wonder Woman.

The reigning Miss Universe is Andrea Meza of Mexico. She was crowned last May 17, 2020.
